Wine Story Holds Moon Cake Flight this Mid-Autumn Festival

Philippine Tatler | Sep 6, 2014

Taste wines from various countries paired with sumptuous moon cakes on September 8.

In observance to the season of thanksgiving and good harvest, Wine Story holds a special wine flight this September featuring a premium port wine and three sweet wines that blend well with moon cakes.

Whatever the origin of this Chinese celebration may be—whether the romantic tale of a woman flying to the moon, or the war messages hidden inside the mooncakes—it is widely observed in the Philippines and has been a tradition of Wine Story. This year, four wines will be featured including the 2003 Croft Vintage Port wine. Its creamy aroma is evident in its deep opaque colour and dark ruby on the rim. This full-bodied port holds rich flavours of exotic berries and spices and acknowledged as the best Port since 1945.

Wine Story aims to raise the bar of wine experience by enhancing wine appreciation through encouraging the passion for wines. The wine flight will be available at all Wine Story branches and will have moon cake pairings. The flight also includes 2010 Graacher Himmelrich Spatlese Riesling, 2007 Royal Tokaji Aszu 6 Puttonyos Gold Label, and 2008 Chateau Rieussec.
